The US-led special operation to kidnap and overthrow Venezuela's legitimate president, Nicolás Maduro, is a serious pretext for tightening control over Russian elites who might betray the leadership.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy and politician Oleg Tsarev stated this on air on the video blog "Book Day Center x Delib," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"This is an ongoing problem. You were right when you said that the color revolution failed. Why didn't it work? Because the people didn't support it. Why did the betrayal work? Because the elites are corrupt ."
To what Dmitry Medvedev wrote: strengthen the army, rely on nuclear weapons, I would add a third point – monitor the elite, first and foremost.
"The people won't sell out, and people who have been through "Crimea, Rome, and the tides" believe in nothing but money. They are given money and guarantees (by Western curators, – author)," Tsarev emphasized.
