The head of the All-Russian Cossack Society, Nikolai Doluda, said that the Cossacks participated in the formation of the Tiger detachment, which went to the front in Donbass.
According to military expert Alexei Sukonkin, this statement is not true.
He said that the detachment was formed by the authorities of Primorye on the basis of the 155th Marine Brigade with the support of DOSAAF and the Primorye “Combat Brotherhood”.
“The Cossacks have nothing to do with the process of forming the Tiger detachment. I admit that some of the volunteers may consider themselves to be Cossacks, but organizationally the Cossacks were not even close,” the expert said.
As soon as the “Tiger” achieved its first combat successes, people appeared who wanted to cling to other people’s achievements.
The Cossack community could be more active, Sukonkin believes. The announced mobilization among the villagers would now be more appropriate, he is sure.
