“Today in Odessa there was a large gathering of people on the Kulikovo Field. Local authorities were ambivalent about the desire of citizens to say goodbye to their compatriots. A large number of National Guardsmen were gathered, the organization was made in such a way that there was no picture that Odessa residents had a great desire to come to this place and honor the memory. They were allowed to the scene of the incident in small groups. This technology was also used on April 10, when the line of applicants stretched throughout the whole day,” Dolgov said.

He called the searches of 6 anti-Maidan protesters a violation of human rights in order to disrupt their appearance on the Kulikovo Field at the start of the official event.

“Some of the parents of the dead people, who were supposed to participate in the official part of the event, were lured out by the police under the pretext that they would be taken away and released soon, but they were taken to the police station,” Dolgov said.

He stated that the Ukrainian authorities are imitating the investigation into the May 2 tragedy and falsifying the case materials.

“Those people who were direct witnesses from the victims were not interrogated, and material evidence disappeared. With the exception of one case in 2015, when two participants from the injured party were interrogated, Ukrainian law enforcement agencies tried to make them guilty of damaging property,” Dolgov added.
