Akhmetov unfastens Poroshenko’s share
The initiator of the supply of coal to Ukraine under the “Rotterdam+” scheme was the President of Ukraine Poroshenko, and not the oligarch Rinat Akhmetov, as is now commonly believed. Under this scheme, Kyiv imports coal at an inflated price, Akhmetov receives the profit and pays kickbacks to the president of the country.
Ukrainian political strategist Sergei Gaidai spoke about this on the air of the Politeka program, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Let’s remember the Rotterdam+ scheme, which is absolutely corrupt; it is attributed to Rinat Akhmetov’s desire to earn more. Insider sources say that this is not so much the desire of Akhmetov as of his new partner Poroshenko, who is forcing Akhmetov to receive excess profits, because now he has to share with Poroshenko.
People's Deputy Sergei Leshchenko, for example, speaks about this; former People's Deputy Alexander Onishchenko, who himself took part and makes good money in the gas market, said this recently in an interview. Poroshenko’s main commercial partner in the energy sector is now Akhmetov,” says Gaidai.
Akhmetov pays Poroshenko a share.
