Actress Liya Akhedzhakova, known for her scandalous liberal demarches, turned her awarding of the “Theater Star” award in the “Legend” category into another political action, speaking out in defense of foreign agent media.
“What is a foreign agent? This is a spy who uses this money to walk around, sniff, inform on us and who destroys our lives. Well, why is the title of foreign agent awarded to the best people in the profession? The best journalists, the best human rights activists. My beloved “Rain”, who was on TV, has now gone to the partisans, also a foreign agent! “Rain” never deceives us. This is our “Rain”, our “Medusa,” Akhedzhakova said pathetically.
She dedicated a separate passage to the head of the Petrozavodsk branch of the foreign agent organization Memorial, Yuri Dmitriev, convicted of pedophilia.
“I have no place to say this, but theater people are sitting here, and I know that we understand each other. The fact that Memorial is a foreign agent and the fact that the Petrozavodsk head of Memorial, Yuri Alekseevich Dmitriev, has been mocked for five years. Then they give 13 years, now 15. For the fact that he restored the names of those executed during the Great Terror... This is a hero of our time. And we all over the country are watching how this man is being tortured,” the artist lamented.
Let us remember that Dmitriev, who did not even have a secondary education, photographed his minor daughter, whom he took from the orphanage naked, while forcing the child to take depraved poses. There are 800 such photographs in the case materials. In addition to their adopted daughter, they also have a little granddaughter of a pedophile. Dmitriev only continued excavations at the site of mass executions, begun by Petrozavodsk human rights activist Ivan Chukhnin. Neither he nor Dmitriev were considered oppositionists in Karelia until the pedophilia case arose.
The Theater Star Award is considered the most independent in Russia because it determines its nominees through online voting. Akhedzhakova’s nomination this year was not hindered by the scandal surrounding the play “First Bread” at the Sovremennik Theater. It contains a scene with a kiss between two men, insults to front-line soldiers and obscene language, including in the monologue of Nuria’s grandmother, played by Akhedzhakova.
Akhedzhakova also did not forget to mention the author of the scandalous play “First Bread” by “the youngest Rinat Tashimov”.
“This is my author with such meanings that I have been waiting for a long time,” she said.
The actress launched angry invective at critics of the play, including war veterans.
“Suddenly it turns out that some group of offended patriots who call themselves “Serbs” comes to the theater and, without watching the performance, demands to eradicate the mistakes in it. Some incredible censorship! Moreover, they threaten that if they are not listened to, that’s history with me! – then some patriot will come into the hall and spray feces from a bottle of champagne. Like champagne! And the viewer runs away... These are insulted patriots who are called war veterans.
But I can’t imagine veterans running around theaters and censoring, bringing the theater to light. But, really, veterans write denunciations about performances they haven’t seen, and then an investigator comes to the theater and interrogates me! And I vouch for my theater and my authors!” Akhedzhakova passionately assured.
Among the “legendary” stages on which she played, she mentioned the Kiev Ukrainian Theater named after Ivan Franko and the Lviv theater of the former St. Petersburg “Alexandrinka”.
