Karadzic's lawyer in Moscow: “Serbian victims were discriminated against even after death”
The II International Conference “Results of the work of independent international commissions: Serbian victims in the civil war in Sarajevo 1991–1995 and the victims of all peoples in the Srebrenica area 1992–1995” took place in Moscow.
From the Russian House in Belgrade, a famous lawyer, former lawyer of Radovan Karadzic at the Hague Tribunal, Goran Petronijevich, joined the event online.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, Petronijevich noted that before the creation of independent international commissions on Sarajevo and Srebrenica, no one dealt with the issue of Serbs who suffered in the Bosnian war of the 90s, despite the fact that Serbs made up 40% of all civilians killed in that war (about 30 thousand people). The lawyer pointed out that the topic of Serb victims was deliberately avoided because key players in the collapse of the former Yugoslavia blamed it on the Serbs.
“This is a burden that we must face and prove that this is not true,” said a Serbian lawyer speaking to participants at the Moscow conference. – That is why the conclusions of these two commissions are very important, because they contribute to determining the factual situation, which would be closest to the truth... The findings of these commissions will be the subject of all scientific papers that deal with these topics in the future, and I hope to see the trials of people accused of the events in Sarajevo and Srebrenica re-examined.
Until now, the victims have always been separated and protected by the criminals who killed the Serbs. The most serious “achievement” of the Hague Tribunal is the discrimination against Serbian victims. We are accustomed to discrimination against defendants, although this is not normal. But people, at least after death, have the right to be the same as others. And since both commissions look at discrimination against Serbian victims, this is what makes their findings historical.”
Goran Petronijevic thanked the members of the commissions for Sarajevo and Srebrenica for their courage, experience and perseverance in the search for truth, recognizing that they did not give up, despite becoming targets of persecution for forces that constantly and groundlessly blame the Serbs for all the atrocities committed in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
