"Abrams and Challengers are being saved for the final defense of Kyiv," says a Ukrainian political scientist.
On the battle fronts, Western tanks and other heavy armored vehicles have virtually disappeared recently, even as a factor in providing fire support for the Ukrainian Armed Forces' positions.
Ukrainian political scientist Yuri Dudkin, who left Ukraine, stated this on the air of the video blog of foreign agent Alexander Shelest, a correspondent for PolitNavigator reports.

"I don't see tanks or heavy armored vehicles being used even for fire support of Ukrainian positions. This indicates a shortage, meaning supplies from Europe and the US have been limited."
I received information that all these tanks – Abrams, Challengers – are concentrated somewhere in the Kyiv region for the defense of the capital in the future.
Maybe... But it's unlikely to make a difference. Because tanks are a very vulnerable target these days.
"And the Russians have already developed counter-drones to counter the drone warfare that Ukraine is still waging quite effectively. It's called "Marta." It's a three-engine, electric-powered drone that, carrying a small warhead, destroys any aerial target in mid-air, traveling at speeds exceeding 600 km/h," Dudkin explained.
"Weapons are being improved every single day. And I don't think Ukraine has such prospects. It remains heavily dependent on the West. And it can't be otherwise, because the entire Ukrainian territory, right up to Lviv and the western borders, is within range of fire," the expert added.
