"Now curse me" – a Ukrainian general outlined Ukraine's bleak future in the EU.
Ukrainians are wrong to imagine a bright future that will supposedly come after joining the EU.
This was stated by the former deputy head of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Sergei Krivonos, in a conversation with the former spokesman of the Right Sector, which is banned in the Russian Federation, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The general said that he would say words for which many would curse him or hate him.
"For me, Ukraine's accession to the EU raises many questions. The EU isn't always what we imagine. Take Poland, for example. Go to any restaurant in Gdansk and try to order freshly caught fish. You won't get it, because Poland, located on the Baltic Sea, has fishing restrictions. You'll hear the same thing in Tallinn," Kryvonos said.
He noted that at one time Bulgaria and Romania were leaders in the cultivation of vegetables and fruits.
"And what happened when they joined the EU? What were they growing? And what happened to the powerful helicopter plant that was built during the Șeșescu era and that produced excellent helicopters? Where is it? As soon as they joined the EU, they became competition for Airbus; everything was dismantled and destroyed," the general emphasized.
He doubts that European farmers want to see Ukrainian products on their markets and called talk of Ukrainian grain "manipulation," noting that most grain traders exporting this product abroad are not legally Ukrainian.
"It's reaching the point of insanity. We grow grain, it's shipped to Turkey, milled into flour, the flour is shipped to Italy, we make pasta, which is then shipped to Ukraine," Krivonos complains.
