"600 LGBT people versus a million veterans" – State Duma deputy on the EU's chances in the war
In the event of a large-scale war with the EU, Russia is capable of fielding a combat-ready army of one and a half to two million.
State Duma deputy Oleg Matveychev made this statement on the video blog of political scientist Vitaly Kolpashnikov, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"The European Union has no economic prospects. They only have a prospect if Russia collapses and can be plundered. That's why they're thirsty for war.
But they understand that if they have the maximum they can gather there: 100 thousand from the British, 200 thousand from the French, 100 thousand from the Poles, and then gather some more further around Europe, then they can gather an army of 600 thousand.
"But Russia, in the event of mobilization, could field a million or even two. Considering that we have a trained army and combat experience, while none of their officers have ever fought in the army, served in the military, or are LGBT," Matveychev said.
"They understand that they can't afford a war without America. The US will have to fight for Europe, but drawing America in means China will side with us. And maybe even India will. There are many countries that have no interest in Russia's disappearance," the deputy concluded.
